DO I CORRECT THIS?

6.) I AM NOT GETTING ANY VIDEO IN WINDOWS AFTER I INSTALLED YOUR CARD.
7.) I HAVE AN ALR PENTIUM MACHINE. I CANNOT GET THE PRO GRAPHICS
CARD TO FUNCTION IN THIS MACHINE.
8.) WHEN RUNNING THE SETUP PROGRAM, I GET THE FOLLOWING ERROR
MESSAGE, "CANNOT CREATE README.TXT."
9.) WHAT ARE THE RESOLUTIONS THAT THE CARD WILL DISPLAY
UNDER WINDOWS ?
10.) HOW MANY MEGS OF VRAM ARE ON THE CARD?

1.) My computer will not post after inserting the card. How do I correct
this?

Ensure that the JP1 jumper is properly set. Pins 1 - 2 enable the on-board
VGA. If this is the only display card in your system, then you want pins
1 - 2 covered. To disable the on-board VGA, you would cover pins 2 - 3 on
the JP1 jumper.

Reseat the card. You may even try the board in an ISA slot. The computer
will still boot, but you will be unable to use the extended graphics
capabilities of the card.

Some motherboards run different speeds for ISA and ISA / VLB slots, there may
be a bus speed sync. error.

2.) Are there any OS/2 Drivers for the Pro Graphics 1024?

The latest version of the drivers is 1.1.

This driver utilizes the Cirrus Logic VGA chip on the Pro Graphics board.
Media Vision does not have OS/2 drivers for the Pro Graphics portion of
this board.

3.) How do I install the ADI Driver for the Pro Graphics 1024?

These drivers are on the BBS, please follow these installation instructions.

1. Run the INSTALL.EXE from the floppy. This will create
PANA3DS.BAT which just sets up environment variables.

2. Run PANA3DS.BAT. This will set the DLDCFG and RCPADI
environment variables.

3. Put 3D Studio into configuration mode by typing 3DS VIBCFG.

4. The first set of screens will be the configuration for the
Main Display. You must use an 8-bit (256 color) driver for this
module because if you use a 24-bit driver, the light patches won't
work. Try using 1024x768x256 colors.

5. After saving and exiting, the screen will appear again to configure
the Materials Editor. You must use an 8-bit driver for this module
because if you use a 24-bit driver, the material samples will not be
rendered. Try using 1024x768x256 colors.

6. After saving and exiting, the screen will appear again to configure
the Rendering display. You should use a 24-bit driver for the best
results. Try using 1024x768x16.7M colors. This will, however, not
have any effect on rendering a .FLI or .FLC file because they are 8-bit,
but this will give you a fantastic still rendered image such as .TIF or
TGA. It is always necessary to have the environment variable set
when you want to use the driver in 3D Studio. You may want to
insert the contents of the PANA3DS.BAT file into your
AUTOEXEC.BAT file.

4.) All of my icons are yellow. Will newer drivers correct this problem?

Version 1.5 drivers will fix this problem. These drivers are on the BBS.
The filename is PGWIN15.EXE

5.) I am receiving a Dynalink Error. How do I fix this?

Copy the CTL3D.DLL file from the installation diskette to
the WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. This file handles the dynamic
links between the driver menu settings and the Windows GDI.
This file will not copy over during install if a file with the same name
is found, this typically happens if ATI drivers were previously
installed on your system.

6.) I am not getting any video in Windows after I installed your card.

Here are several items to check to correct this problem.

1.) Check to see if the PG 1024 is installed correctly in a VLB
slot. Try a different slot.

2.) See if any other adapters are installed on a VLB slot.
If so, we need to know that the VLB slots are working.

3.) Try the BIOS power on defaults in your CMOS. Incorrect
wait state settings on the VLB can cause the board not to sync.

4.) Try excluding A000-C7FF in your SYSTEM.INI. Here is a sample line:

[386Enh]emmexclude=A000-C7FF

5.) Try a different Memory Address setting. Some motherboards
cannot address memory at higher range. The setting is located in
the PG1024 icon inside the control panel, select advanced then board
settings. Use a lower address setting. Exclude the new address range
with EMMEXCLUDE. Try using D800-D8FF. Here is an example:

EMMEXCLUDE=D800-D8FF

6.) Check for SIS 206 or SIS 4xx controllers.

Look for a 3 pin jumper block located near the VLB slots.
This is usually an undocumented setting. It is sometimes marked "reserved".
This is usually marked JP21 or JP118. Try setting the jumper in the alternate
position. You may also wish to consult with your motherboard manufacturer
for the settings for this jumper.

Motherboards using an SIS chipset with UNI or Toshiba
controllers, set the memory address to DC00. Exclude DC00-DCFF
on the EMM386.EXE line in the CONFIG.SYS file and on the
EMMEXECLUDE line in the SYSTEM.INI.

7.) I have an ALR Pentium machine. I cannot get the Pro Graphics
card to function in this machine.

The ALR Pentium machines do not adhere to VESA local bus
standards. These machines will not work with the Pro Graphics
board. Media Vision will have to perform a hardware modification
to this board before the card will work in this type of computer.

Please contact the Media Vision Technical Support Department to
request an RMA the board.

8.) When running the SETUP program, I get the following
error message, "Cannot Create README.TXT."

The Pro Graphics setup will sometimes give this error message
if the specified DIR does not already exist. Create the DIR and run
setup again.

9.) What are the resolutions that the card will display under Windows?
The card will display the following Windows resolutions

1024 x 768	256 / 24bit color
800 x 600	256 / 24bit color
640 x 480	256 / 24bit color

10.) How many megs of VRAM are on the card?

The card has 2.25 MB VRAM. The Cirrus Logic portion of the board
utilizes 512K
